Early Morning Preparations
The day begins at 6:30 AM when I arrive at Turner & Schoel’s headquarters. After checking the day’s service appointments and loading my truck with essential parts and tools, I’m ready to head out to my first call in Northport.
Morning Service Calls
My first stop involves a routine maintenance check for a residential AC unit. These preventative services are crucial during Alabama’s intense summers. I inspect:
• Filter conditions
• Refrigerant levels
• Electrical connections
• Thermostat functionality
• Condenser unit cleanliness
Midday Emergency
Around noon, dispatch radios in with an emergency call from Cottondale. An elderly resident’s air conditioning has completely stopped working, and with temperatures climbing into the 90s, this becomes our priority. These situations remind me why I love this job – helping people when they need it most.
Afternoon Schedule
The afternoon consists of:
• Commercial AC maintenance in Tuscaloosa
• Refrigerant recharge for a unit in Samantha
• System diagnostic check for a new client
End of Day
Before heading home, I complete my service reports and prepare for tomorrow. Working in the HVAC industry requires constant attention to detail and dedication to customer service. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our community stay comfortable, especially during those scorching Alabama summers.
Being part of the Turner & Schoel team means upholding high standards of professionalism and expertise in every service call we make.
